Rock Along the River

©Shers Gallagher 2013 I feel the breath I cannot yet see All is changing as autumn busies herself distilling colours -  yellow, gold and red, turning with time that wears upon my face while youth robs me limb from limb Yet I'm still here  among the ruddy cattails that rock along the river.
Grandmother's chair reminds me
of her gentle rhythms creaking and groaning, her soothing sounds crackling with wisdom She now graces my halls Softly,
slowly, I reappear  among the ruddy cattails  that rock along the river
